Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 June 2026

This page explains what data is collected when you visit Over The Peloton (the "Site"), why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

1. Who we are

Over The Peloton is a personal, non-commercial project that publishes professional cycling race routes and elevation profiles. For any privacy-related question, contact us at [email protected].

2. Data we collect

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect names, email addresses or any information you would have to type in. The Site relies on two third-party services described below.

3. Analytics (GoatCounter)

We use GoatCounter for privacy-friendly, aggregated visitor statistics (page views, referrer, approximate country, browser). GoatCounter does not use cookies and does not track you across sites. The data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you.

4. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display advertising through Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs. To do this, Google and its partners may:

Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's own policies. You can read more and manage your preferences here:

5. Your consent

If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, a Google-certified consent message appears on your first visit, asking whether you agree to personalised advertising and the related cookies. Google does not use advertising cookies for personalisation until you consent. Analytics (GoatCounter) is cookieless and runs regardless of your choice.

You can change or withdraw your decision at any time through Google's consent controls, or via Google My Ad Center.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Because we do not store personal data ourselves, most requests about advertising data should be directed to Google. You can still contact us at [email protected].

7. Data retention

We do not keep personal data on our own servers. Aggregated, anonymous analytics are retained by GoatCounter, and advertising data is retained by Google, according to their respective policies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
